$135.00

Wednesday, December 4th - 12pm to 4:30PM- $135 - All materials included, but see below for suggestions!

Join Miriam Hughes, local artist and hand sewer, and explore a new way to make the holiday season calmer and still productive - the joys of slow stitching!

Slow stitching is an approach to textile art and embroidery that emphasizes a mindful, contemplative, and unhurried process. It involves taking time to savor each stitch, paying attention to details, and embracing the meditative aspects of the craft.

Slow stitching encourages a deeper connection with the materials, the creative process, and the sewing itself. It promotes relaxation, presence, and personal expression, allowing individuals to immerse themselves in the joy of hand stitching and its therapeutic benefits. All supplies will be included in this workshop, but feel free to bring tiny scraps of fabric you love and a pair scissors!

Additional Slow-Stitch kits to take home will also be for sale for $15. This class seats 10 students.

Originally a medical illustrator, Miriam Hughes works in gouache, watercolors, pens, collage and fibers and makes time to create art daily. She exhibits widely and is a resident artist and teacher at 310 ART
