This beautiful encaustic and mixed-media piece depicts a male figure surrounded by nature, leafing through the pages of a book that have been collaged with pieces of map paper, and enhanced with oil pigments. Placed on top of the figure are nature prints also done in oil pigment.

The use of a toner image transfer and layers of luminous encaustic wax create a hazy, dreamy aura that transports both the figure depicted, and the viewer.
